Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Lewis University, Dr. Mike Lewis, recently collaborated with ShareFest Will County as part of his capstone course. This semester, students in Computer Software Systems had the opportunity to create a website for this New Lenox-based organization.
ShareFest Will County is an organization with a great mission. According to their website it has... “a purpose to serve the deepest needs of the people in Will County with the resources available to us. This includes food, clothes, educational supplies, free health care, employment opportunities and environmental impact projects.” The website also states Founder, Gary Cheney, has been leading ShareFest since 2007 when he realized the depth of need in his community.
Through the work of Dr. Lewis and his students, the ShareFest website is already greatly impacting the form and function of ShareFest. The organization can reach out, connect, and get feedback from their partners and community members.
