This past weekend the Office of Community Engaged Learning held the Fall 2022 CELF Program Training. This training happens semesterly and focuses on training new CELFs (Community Engaged Learning Facilitators) about various topics. Returning CELFs joined the training on Sunday to provide insight about their experiences. Some of the topics included empathy, purpose, meaning, and how to conduct and lead reflections.
One of the main focuses was CELFs participating in different creative activities. A common theme throughout our time together was drawing, even though few would consider themselves to be artists! The scavenger hunt tradition also took place as one of the favorite parts of the weekend for CELFs and our office! Students got creative when it came to walking around campus looking for things like the Lewis Logo and even having to make a TikTok dance.
The office is proud of both the new and returning CELFs that were able to participate and make training awesome this past weekend. Look out for more to come throughout the semester about the amazing courses and community partners our CELFs will be working with!
