Lewis Interdisciplinary Leadership Lab

The College of Business

During the last year, a team of faculty members began to think together about creating a “dynamic space for development, innovation, sharing, experimentation, and experiential learning” around the topic of leadership. The team, which included Dr. Lesley Page (Organizational Leadership and Management), Dr. George Klemic (Business Administration), and Dr. Michele Kramer (Nursing), brought forth a proposal for the Lewis Interdisciplinary Leadership Lab (LILL). Since then, a steering committee of faculty and staff from across the institution have begun to move LILL forward, outlining a mission, vision, and goals. Specifically, LILL initiatives are “designed with two, mutually beneficial goals in mind: 1.To provide an environment in which participants can self-actualize and grow as leaders. 2.To respond to community-identified priorities in ways that support community organizations and businesses.” To get started, LILL is creating a library of leadership-related materials – including podcasts, webinars, and virtual trainings – that will be available on their new website. The steering committee also hopes to draw in faculty who have an interest in developing interdisciplinary leadership courses, offering webinars or workshops to local businesses and community organizations, or serving as consultants. Additionally, they hope to engage community and business leaders with LILL who may be interested in serving as a steering committee member or collaborator. If you’d like to explore LILL further, please be in touch with any of the steering committee members listed below or email Laura Wilmarth Tyna at wilmarla@lewisu.edu.
