On November 12th, the Office of Community Engaged Learning staff hosted their first virtual workshop. The event, titled “Exploring Innovation in Campus-Community Partnership,” brought together 23 local community partners and Lewis University faculty and staff.
Participants heard from two community leaders – Ms. Lou Ann Johnson of Community Lifeline Ministries and Ms. Veronica Gloria from the Spanish Community Center – about their experiences with collaboration. Both women noted exceptional partnerships and the qualities that made them successful. They also spoke about the impact of the pandemic on creative collaboration and the changes that organizations might permanently adopt after the health crisis subsides. The session concluded with an opportunity for participants to brainstorm in small groups and share out with the entire group
